I have intentionally left out at least one album release. I do not support or endorse Illuminati members or propaganda.

I figure it is about time I address this pet peeve of mine. I am sure you all know that I am apparently a “conspiracy nut”, and I do admit that I have some unique opinions (at least you think they are opinions or just outright ridiculous ideas). All I have to say to you is… Wake Up. An intelligent mind should not be held prisoner. However, there are many nuts out there, and many of them have been placed there intentionally to misdirect an inquiring mind. If you start asking questions and everywhere you look all you see is crazy, you just give up on any rational ideas and just write it all off as crazy.
Do a search for Illuminati and you start seeing all kind of crazy stuff, however, I can tell you that there is truth in SOME of them. You see reference to the Freemasons as being part of them. You see reference of the Freemasons being a Satanic organization. Anyone writing and or believing in this non-sense has obviously not do any reading or research on their own and they are just believing the first thing that they see when they try and search for the truth.
I will start with the FACT that the Illuminati is real, or at the very least, they were real. I still believe they are around today and stronger than ever, but no sane or intelligent mind can deny that they ever existed. There is more historical proof than anything else. They had at one time, tried to infiltrate the Freemasons back in their beginning. This did not end well for them, and as they were expelled (in a manner of speaking) from any affiliation, they appeared to vanish or disband. Many of us believe they simply went into deeper hiding (those with that much power and influence just don’t vanish). The next part is common sense… if you do any research into the goals of the Illuminati it is clear you will see many Satanic ideas and ideals. However, when it comes to the Freemasons and that idea… you know it is a very large G and not S or D in the centre of the compass don’t you? G… as in God. This is used today in a more loose fashion that in the early days. G simply references a Higher Power in the universe. If you do not believe in such a concept, than Freemasonry is not for you.
It is clear when you begin to read and research who is actually seeking the truth, clear if you really look that is. Believing in the first thing that pops up because it seems like it could be true, or just that you really want it to be, makes you look like a fool. If there is ever something you want to know about Freemasonry, ask. It is not a Secret Organization, it is well known and documented organization of good people. Yes, there are certain aspects or membership that contains secrets, but that is nothing new. The companies you work for have secrets.
We are the people who can make a difference… the Sheeple will be lead until they wake up or simply find themselves in the slaughter house.
Just my nickels worth …

Looking for a new Review!

A friend, Robin Zee, shared something a few weeks back. It was an article detailing 7 reasons people don’t come to your event (show) by Ari Herstand. It was a good read, but something that has been really tossed around many times over the past few years. Things are not what they used to be. I think before we get into event listings, it’s important to cover and most likely expand on these points. I want to relate them to venues and musicians so I may do this over several blogs.
Reason #7 … You Aren’t Going Out Into The World
This one is one that I hardly ever see anyone do.
As a venue owner, you need to realize isolation from your competition is never a good thing. And I use the term competition very loosely. If you have a unique environment and food, solid entertainment, great service and staff, etc. There is plenty of room in this town for everyone. You need to get out into the community (other venues) and socialize. With potential customers, entertainment, and other owners. You have the opportunity to help each other out. In Hamilton, there are already owners that are like this, you just need to get your head out of your ass and get out there. This will also help you see what works and what doesn’t.
As an entertainer, networking is very important. Same applies to you… everyone matters. Of course you want to promote your upcoming show, but make sure you are not being a dick about it. Talk with your peers and I am sure they will ask about your next big event as they thank you for making it to theirs. You may meet other local promoters, meet and owner you have never met before, etc.
If you plan to be a star, then start acting like one. Public appearance is crucial to your eventual success. Start building your name, your look, and your fan base right now. If you don’t think this is important, get out of the business. Remember you are a business and in business the customer is everything. A personal invite to your event, perhaps a couple “free passes”… this will make a world of difference over time.
